How it WOrks
Everyone starts with $1000 LBucks. The goal is to make the most money by the end of the project. At the end of the project, everyone will vote for 6 separate videos out of the total 18 in order of ranking preference. You will receive bucks if your video gets votes:
1st place = $150 per vote
2nd place = $120 per vote
3rd place = $100 per vote
4th place = $75 per vote
5th place = $50 per vote
6th place = $25 per vote
The goal is to make your recording as good as possible so that you accumulate the most votes at the end. Mr. Lim and Mr. Lawi? will also be part of the voting process. Lim and Lawi? votes count DOUBLE what is shown above.

How to Earn $ |
Hire Musicians
If you do the whole project by yourself, you technically don’t have to spend any money. However, perhaps you want to make your arrangement fancier. You can hire out your classmates to play instruments that you don’t play. Perhaps you want 2 violins, a viola and a cello, but you only play cello. You might want to hire 2 or 3 of your classmates to play the other parts on the recording. If you want to cross over and hire people out of Lim Country who live in Lawi Country, that is also fine. You set your own rates for how much you cost to do a recording. This can vary as you become more in demand, or if you want to give your friend a discount rate. Maybe you don’t want to hire the most expensive cellist to save money, or maybe you want the most expensive cellist because he/she will make your recording sound the best or is able to play the hard cello part you wrote. If you are too expensive, nobody will want to hire you. If you are too cheap, you won’t make very much for your services in return. Maybe you don’t want to hire the superstar mega-corporation instrumentalist because you don’t want them to get even more money and win. You can also buy arranging advice from your classmates, again setting your own rates. Mr. Lim will also be offering arranging advice…FOR A PRICE! Hire A/V Help Perhaps you want to pay someone in the class some Lbucks to help you put together a visual/video component because you feel it will enhance your recording. If you spend too much money creating your masterpiece, and people don’t like it anyway at the voting round, that’s life. Sometimes high budget projects fail and you eat the cost. If you spend money hiring someone to play for you and they end up doing a less than satisfactory job, you still have to pay them for their service. |
